Common import issues and how to fix them.

Having trouble importing your guest list? Here are solutions to common issues.


"File format not supported"

Problem: Your file isn't being recognized.

Solutions:

  • Make sure your file is .xlsx, .xls, or .csv
  • If using Google Sheets, download as Excel or CSV first
  • Check that the file isn't corrupted by opening it in Excel

"No data found in file"

Problem: The file uploads but shows no guests.

Solutions:

  • Ensure data starts on the first sheet (for Excel files)
  • Check that there are no blank rows at the top
  • Make sure the first row contains column headers

"Couldn't map columns"

Problem: The system can't figure out which columns are which.

Solutions:

  • Use clear column headers like "Name", "Email", "Party Size"
  • Manually map columns during import if auto-detection fails
  • Remove any extra columns that aren't needed

"Duplicate guests detected"

Problem: Some guests appear to be duplicates.

Solutions:

  • Review the duplicates list during import
  • Choose to skip, replace, or add as new
  • Clean up your source file before re-importing
