How the Ranking System Works

Understand the scoring system and how ratings translate into guest priorities.

The ranking system is the heart of Sorry, Not Invited. Here's how it helps you make those tough decisions together.

The Basic Concept

Each partner rates every guest privately. Your partner can't see your ratings, and you can't see theirs. This ensures honest, unbiased input from both of you.

Scoring Categories

For each guest, you rate them on several factors:

📌

Necessity

How essential is this person? Must-have vs. nice-to-have.

🎯

Likelihood

How likely are they to actually attend?

❤️

Relationship

How close are you to this person?

You can also add custom categories that matter to you.

The Rating Scale

Each category uses a simple 1-5 scale:

1

Low

2

3

Medium

4

5

High

The Cutoff Line

Based on your target guest count, the system shows you where the natural cutoff falls. Guests above the line are "in," guests below are "out."

💡 Tip

Remember, you have the final say! The algorithm is just a tool to help facilitate the conversation.
